Week 40, Day 283, February 2, 2010, Cannon Ball

This reminds me of the cannon balls that I saw at the Castle in Rome, Italy.  I wonder if this was the inspiration of the architect that designed them.

Lessons Learned:
  • Arches out of focus make great back drops.
  • Being addicted to Lost limits my blog posting.
Photo details: Exposure time 1/200 sec, Aperture f/1.8, ISO 100, Focal Length 50 mm, 35 mm equivalent focal length 82mm, Lens Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, handheld.

Nifty fifty lenses are delicious. When I get a DSLR, that's the first thing I'm buying. Then a macro. Then probably a 17-40. Then like a 55-300. Anyway, I'm rambling.

Cool picture and you're right about the arch. I'm looking forward to buying a 50mm lens soon and I plan to watch Lost on dvd someday. :)

Great textures with the ball in the foreground, and stones and arch in the background - love the DoF too. I like how the shapes of the ball and the arch are completely different and how they work in each others space.
