Any opinions on this approach of highlighting a portion of the photo?
Lesson Learned:
- Many times I find something very interesting in my photos after I have come back to the computer, and looked at them for a while. For this photo, it was fine because I could easily return to the corn field is across the road from where I live. Other times I may not have a second shot at taking a photo. Maybe a new camera with a larger LCD will help. ;-)

Very nice! It's amazing how much a photo can be changed by highlighting. It's also amazing how eye-catching a pop of color in a b&w photo can be. I wonder if the composition would be improved with slightly less pop in the highlighted color.
I don't always like it but in this case I think the highlighting works really well! Makes for a very interesting picture!
Looks pretty great to me. It goes POP!
Very cool. It gives a whole new meaning to popped corn. Playing with colour this way sure can be a lot of fun. I've done something similar on my current post.. de-saturating parts of the image to highlight others.
I'm here following Gary's mini-rant about your comment form. ;)
STEVE! Sorry to rant in public, but thank you for the change!!!!!!
Oh well would you look at this. Easy as pie.
Cool photo. So you're in Ithaca as well. I'm an Iowan, surrounded by corn.
Nice idea, well executed.
I like that kind of treatment. I brings forth the essential point - and you have fun doing it.
..WOW! photo simply amazing! :)))
Usually I'm not a fan of highlighting, I guess I'm a bit of a purist. For this photo however the technique works well.
