My daughter's boy friend began playing some guitar, so I tried some new shots. This is the first photo that I have taken that I like the depth of field (DOF) part way into the photo highlighting the fingering for a D chord. I've been looking for an opportunity to have this type of DOF, and I think it works in this photograph.
Lessons Learned:
- I have to remember to keep various ideas in the back of my mind. Opportunities may present themselves that allow me to use these ideas to produce interesting photographs.

A very good use of depth of field.
Love the DoF.
And I have to agree with your lesson learned - I started writing all my ideas down; now I carry a typed list of photography things to do when I'm feeling uninspired.
Plus, it's a picture of a guitar. So, win!
Nice shot!
I love photos with shallow DOF.
Your lesson learned sounds like a good one. I'm going to have to make a list like Andrew said.
Yes, a very good use of DOF. I will also make a list of photo concepts to jog my memory when I'm out and about and looking for a good image.
Great shot! And I agree with everybody else on your lesson being a good idea. I'll write down ideas on scrap paper at home, but never take them with me. And sometimes I lose them. Need to work on keeping the ideas in one spot, lol.
You did that very well (the DOF, I mean)
Great Shot....
Very classy!
Classic shot - guitars are great photo ops.
That type of focus is very effective as it focuses the mind too.
Nice shot, and the dof really works on this shot.
Your depth of field experiment is a success. Your photo tells the story very well.
