On my way to the photo club, I looked out the window of my car and this is what I saw. Luckily I left early for the meeting, and had time to snap a few photos.
Corn fields attract me for some reason. Perhaps it was playing hide and seek in them as a child, or building forts for snow ball fights out of the stalks in the winter that bring back pleasant memories.
Lessons Learned:
- Once again, it was just keeping my eyes open.

I remember playing hide and seek in the corn field behind my grandparents' house in Illinois. Also losing grandpa's golf balls in it. (Maybe that's why we were hiding?)
My shot from yesterday was also the result of being early (though for work, not a meeting) and having time to stop and shoot what I saw. Something to keep in mind and try to do more often, I think. Be early.

wow Steve, this is beautiful. I too have a strange passion for fields. Mine is not just corn, I am fascinated by the marks man makes on the earth, and how the earth reclaims whatever we do to it.
I love newly planted fields, but equally I love when I stumble across a forgotton road or similar thing in the middle of the woods, where trees are pushing up through the tarmac, and moss has obliterated the panted lines. Crumbled foundations over run with flora and such.
This is a great shot Steve. It shows your talent. Of all the cars who drove by this scene you have been the only one who really saw it.
I love corn fields. We have a lot of them here in Iowa... my favorite part of the year (besides harvest) is when the corn just starts to sprout, and all the fields look 'furry' with new baby corn plants. :)
